Nora A. "Dolly" Williams
1928-2006
HUNTINGDON:
Nora A. "Dolly" Williams, 78, died Sunday, April 9, at her home. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Roger Patton officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Williams was born February 29, 1928, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Ralph H. and Hazel Robbins Dollhopf. She was a retired teacher with 23 years of service with the Huntingdon Special School District, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma - Retired Teachers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy O. Williams; and two sons, Dale Winters and Jerry Winters.
She is survived by six daughters: Fran (Larry) Musser and Millie Morris, both of Huntingdon, Pat (Larry) Fisher and Peggy (Phillip) Howell, both of McLemoresville, and Judy McDade and Betsy (Duane) Shepp, both of Jackson; two sons: Jim (Lisa) Winters of Medical Lake, Washington and Phil (Irene) Williams of McLemoresville; a brother, Ralph R. Dollhopf of Gladston, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Evelyn Scott
1928-2006
MCKENZIE:
Mary Evelyn Scott, 78, died Wednesday, April 5, at her daughter's residence in Dresden. Funeral services were held Friday, April 7, in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Scott was born March 23, 1928, in Carroll County, to the late Bennie and Sara Dodd Bradford. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Scott; two brothers, Tommy and James Bradford; two sisters, Ular Bush and Betty Lou Hotaling; and a step-granddaughter, Tammy Oliver.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Scott of Jackson; two daughters, Barbara Bush of Gleason and Teresa Goodrum of Dresden; two sisters, Mildred Baker and Ethel Mae Lee, both of Buffalo, Texas; eight grandchildren: Shane Garner, Douglas and Jonathan Goodrum, Carrie Insco, Natalie Alexander, Dana and David Brockman, and Melissa Dixon; three step-grandchildren: Janine Hill, Shannon Brooks and Kim Brown; seven great-grandchildren: Derreck, Zach and Blake Garner, Austin and Ashley Goodrum, Vivian Brockman and Gage Dixon; and seven step-great-grandchildren: Drew and Kaitlin Brown, Hanna Brooks, Lanie and Chris Urig, Brittany Ward, and Brandon True.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for Carroll North or Hospice of West Tennessee.

Joe Frank Brush
1949-2006
MCKENZIE:
Joe Frank Brush, 56, died Thursday, April 6, at his residence after a long illness. Services were held Saturday, April 8, in the Cedar Avenue Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie McClure and Bro. Frank Criswell officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Brush was born October 15, 1949, in McKenzie, to the late Willard and Nell Barner Brush. He was manager of operations for CSX Railroad for 36 years. When he was not working with a 70-man tie gang for the railroad he enjoyed mowing yards and riding his Harley Davidson Road King. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the Tennessee National Guard Milan Unit after 23 years as a first sergeant. He was also a TWRA hunters education instructor for 20 years, and was a graduate of McKenzie High School. He was honorary co-chairman for Relay For Life Carroll North in May 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Warman Brush of McKenzie; three sons, Joey (Gina) Brush of McKenzie; Dean (Krista) Brush of McKenzie; and Evan (Samantha) Brush of Lavinia; one daughter, Buffi (Kelly) Price of Huntingdon; one sister, Nellie Ann (Clennon) Dailey of Martin; and five grandchildren.

William Thomas Allen
1949-2006
HUNTINGDON:
William Thomas Allen, 56, died Wednesday, April 5, at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 7, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery. Bro. Fred Ward officiated the service.
Mr. Allen was born June 3, 1949, in Carroll County, to the late Charlie E. Allen and Mary Ellen (Wells) Allen. He was a forklift operator for the Milan Box Company.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Virginia Allen, one son, David (Darlene) Allen of Brownsville; two sisters, Alice (Bob) Cassidy of McKenzie and Bonnie (James Paul) Baxter of Trezevant; two brothers, Bobby (Kay) Allen and Darrell (Betty) Allen, both of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren.

Lauri Ann Fry
1955-2006
HUNTINGDON:
Lauri Ann Fry, 50, died Friday, April 7. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 9, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in Ferguson Cemetery. Bro. Robert Barger officiated the service.
Mrs. Fry was born September 22, 1955, in Shelby County, to James Townsend, deceased, and Bettie Holloway, who survives. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in West Tennessee, most recently at Paris Manor in Paris. After her retirement she devoted a great deal of time to helping found and working for the Carroll County Humane Society. She worked as an animal welfare officer, rescuing abused and abandoned animals.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin Fry, whom she married September 22, 1955; a son, William (Julie) Raim of Huntingdon; one brother, Joseph (Dana) Townsend of Buena Vista; two nieces, Jeanna (Seth) McCarthy and Amanda (Ray) Joyner; and one granddaughter, Emma Raim.
Donations may be made in her name to the Carroll County Humane Society.

Evie Green
1917-2006
HUNTINGDON:
Evie Green, 88, died Friday, April 7, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 9, at Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Jamison Cemetery. Brother Lynn Stapleton officiated the services. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Green was born December 8, 1917, in Benton County, to the late John W. and Judy Flowers Ellis. She was a member of the Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Carroll County Hospital.
She was preceded in death by Roy Hall; three sisters, Lillie Clark, Ethel Hampton, and Annie Robinson; four brothers, Roy Ellis, Grover Ellis, Edmond Ellis, and Levi Ellis; and two granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Max Green; three daughters, Betty Davis of Union City and Brenda Brown and Carol Hall, both of Huntingdon; a son, L.J. Hall of Huntingdon; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Keith Glen Sawyers
1968-2006
McKenzie:
Keith Glen Sawyers died Wednesday, April 5, at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Conquest officiating. Interment followed at Sandhill Cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. Sawyers was born December 15, 1968, in Huntingdon, to the late Nolen Glosson and Mary Ann Sawyers Reynolds of Ripley, who survives. He was disabled and previously worked at CSI in McKenzie.
He is survived by his stepfather, Bobby Reynolds Sr., two brothers, Kevin Sawyers of McKenzie and Bobby Earl Reynolds Jr. of Henning; and one sister, Paula Wray of Halls.

Dale Wayne Wambolt
1959-2006
Rutherford:
Dale Wayne Wambolt, age 47, formerly of Bruceton, died Wednesday, April 5, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Nelson and Bobby Hollingsworth officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.
Mr. Wambolt was born February 24, 1959, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Hollis Wambolt and Helen Badejo Wambolt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, April Nicole Wambolt.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Knorr Wambolt; two sons, Travis (Jessica) Wambolt of Rutherford and Jeremy Smith of Rutherford; one sister, Doreen (Junior) Abbott of Nashville; one brother, Scott Wambolt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one grandson, Zachery Wambolt of Rutherford.

Janice Akin McClain
1947-2006
TREZEVANT:
Janice Akins McClain, 58, died Saturday, April 8, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, April 10, at Trezevant Church of Christ with Bro. John Forgy offering the eulogy. Burial followed in Trezevant Cemetery.
She was born November 18, 1947 in Trezevant to Joe David and the late Clara Jennings Akins. She was a retired president of Farmers and Merchants Bank and the first woman mayor of Trezevant, where she also had served as an alderman, a member of the Trezevant Church of Christ, former member of the Carroll County Watershed Authority, former board member of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, former Carroll County Business Person of the Year, former member of the Regional Hospital Board, and former member of Lake Project Board.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, June Akins Merritt.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy McClain; one son, Greg (Lori) McClain of Trezevant; two daughters, Shan McClain (Norris) Depriest of Trezevant and Nichole McClain (Benji) Lawrence of McLemoresville; her father, Joe David "Red" Akins of McKenzie; one brother, Jerry (Gail) Akins of McKenzie; one sister, Joella Akins Lundy of the Big Buck Community; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Trezevant Church of Christ Building Fund. McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George "Frank" Zimmerman
1938-2006
TREZEVANT:
George "Frank" Zimmerman, 68, died Monday, April 3, at his home. Private services were held Thursday, April 6, at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on January 23, 1938, in Greencastle, Indiana, to the late Otha "Red" and Ruth Myers Zimmerman. He was a retired tool and dye maker for Tower Automotive.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Otha Zimmerman and Jim Zimmerman.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Quinnette Zimmerman; two sons, George Zimmerman, Jr. and Dennis Zimmerman; two stepsons, Henry McCurdy and Michael McCurdy; a stepdaughter, Shelly Saxton; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
