ROYCE NEILL BROWNING
1947-2007
TREZEVANT: Royce Neill Browning, 60, died Monday, April
2, at his residence. Funeral services were Wednesday,
April 7, 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in Trezevant
with burial in Trezevant Cemetery.
Mr. Browning was born January 15, 1947 in Milan. He was
preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Browning.
Survivors include: his mother, Dorris Neill Browning
(Raymond) Downing of Trezevant; one brother, Ricky
(Deborah) Browning of Trezevant; two nephews, Ricky
(Andrea) Browning, Jr. of Trezevant and Daniel Browning
of Marina Del Ray, California; one great-nephew, Trey
Browning; one great-niece, Sarah Browning; and one
uncle, Harold (Ruth) Neill of Milan.
NICHOLAS SCOTT JOHNSON
INFANT
HUNTINGDON: Nicholas Scott Johnson, infant, died
Tuesday, March 27, at Henry County Medical Center in
Paris. Graveside services were Friday, March 30, at
10:00 a.m. in New Reedy Creek Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth
Hillsman officiating.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents,
Peggy Bustle and Benjamin Bustle.
Survivors include: his father and mother, Geoffrey Scott
Johnson and Deborah Jane (Bustle) Johnson of Huntingdon;
two sisters, Shea Jane Johnson of Huntingdon and Jean
Anne Johnson of Nebraska; and paternal grandparents,
Anne Vieregg Mehring of Grand Island, Nebraska and
Lonnie Johnson of Alda, Nebraska.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
John Dee "J.D." Parrish
1920-2007
HENRY: John Dee "J.D." Parrish, 86, died Wednesday April
4, at Henry County Medical Center. Services were Sunday,
April 7, at 10:00 a.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro.
James Smith and Bro. Jason Jones officiating. Burial
followed in Bevil Cemetery.
Mr. Parrish, an Army Airforce Veteran of WWII, was born
September 24, 1920 in Tiptonville to the late Walter E.
and Laura Williams Parrish. He was a former employee of
the Holley Carburetor Plant, an active member of
Johnson's Chapel Methodist Church, and past president of
the Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his
parents; three sisters, Lillie Virginia Cates, Ruby M.
Guinn, and Sarah Parrish Payne; and three brothers,
Claude Thomas Parrish, Adrian Parrish, and W.F. Parrish.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Lucille Conger Parrish
of Henry; one daughter, Patsy (Jerry) Evans of Paris;
two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
WILLIAM (BILL) ARGO
1916-2007
MCKENZIE: William (Bill) Argo, 90, died Friday, April 6,
at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services were
Saturday, April 7, 4:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home,
McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial
followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Argo was born December 11, 1916 in Carroll County to
Dave and Minnie Langley Argo, both deceased. He was the
former owner of Argo's Gulf Station, a 50-year member of
the McKenzie Fire Department, a member of the American
Legion, and First Baptist Church-McKenzie. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Roena Argo; his parents;
two brothers, David and Halbert Argo; and two sisters,
Evora Hill and Annie Bee Travis.
Survivors include: a daughter, Brenda (Tom) Lewis of
Huntingdon; a brother, Lindell Argo of McKenzie; two
grandchildren, Billy (Linda) Collins of Germantown, and
Kevin (Tina) Collins of Bartlett; and three
great-grandchildren, Breena, David, and Austin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be
made to American Cancer Society or Lifeline Blood
Services.
LENORA HUNT
1925-2007
HUNTINGDON: Lenora Hunt, 81, died Tuesday, April 3, at
McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were
Saturday, April 7, 1:00 p.m. at Wingo Baptist Church in
the Wingo community in Carroll County with Pastor Joe
Morton officiating. Burial was in Wingo Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt was born August 15, 1925 in Trezevant to the
late Bob Harris and Pearlie Harris. She was retired from
Milan Army Ammunition Plant with over 30 years of
service. Other than her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Vernell; one daughter, Roxie Mae
Porter; five brothers, Robert, Roy, Lewis, Cleve, and
Beolia Harris; and two sisters, Phyllis Adkisson and
Corine Williams.
Survivors include: one son, Leroy (Shirley) Harris of
Paris; two brothers, Calvin (Ruby) Harris and Thomas
Harris, both of Trezevant; two sisters, Kathelene
Hillsman of Paris and Verlene Simmons; three
grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home of Paris was in charge of
arrangements.
GRACIE MOODY
1908-2007
GLEASON: Gracie Moody, 98, died Friday, April 6, at
McKenzie Health Care. Funeral services were Monday,
April 9, at 2 p.m. at Gallimore Funeral Home with Rev.
Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Tumbling
Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Moody was born August 22, 1908 in Hurricane Mills
to the late Houston Ethridge. Besides her father, she
was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Moody.
Survivors include: one son, Jessie Moody of McKenzie;
three daughters, Nancy Allen of Murfreesboro, Doris
Lovejoy of Dresden, and Shirley Lewindowski; one sister,
Lela Mae Lane of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
MATTIE JO DALTON
HUNTINGDON: Mattie Jo Dalton, 65, died Saturday, April
7, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral
services will be Saturday, April 14, 1 p.m. at
Huntingdon Christian Fellowship Church with burial in
Humble Cemetery.
Survivors include: one sister, Bertha Cocker of Mt.
Clemens, Michigan; one brother, Wilford Guy of Mt.
Clemens, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday night, April 13, at Huntingdon
Christian Fellowship Church from 6 to 8 p.m.

WELDON FRANKLIN WHITE
1930-2007
LOWELL, INDIANA: Weldon Franklin White, 76, died Sunday,
April 8, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in
Jackson. Funeral services are Friday, April 13, at 1
p.m. in Schererville, Indiana at the Chapel Lawn Funeral
Home. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. White was born October 10, 1930 to the late William
Franklin White and Minnie Lee (Merritt) White. He was a
retired supervisor for the Ford Motor Company and a
member of Harrison Church of Christ. Besides his
parents, he was preceded in death by one sister,
Madolyne Anderson, and four brothers, Tom White, Bill
White, Ray White, and Waldon White.
Survivors include: his wife of 49 1/2 years, Robbie
White; his mother-in-law, Ollie Boyd of Huntingdon; four
daughters, Amy (Jim) Lee of Shelby, Indiana, Lori (Jim)
Hammonds of Goshen, Indiana, Beth (Rick) Christian of
Ravenswood, West Virginia, and Tina (Bob) Mitchell of
Lowell, Indiana; one son, Stephen Franklin White of
Black Oak, Indiana; one brother, Jamie (Lucille) White
of Huntingdon; 13 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. |
