1915-2007
BRUCETON: Ila Colene Crews, 91, died Wednesday, January
10, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral
services were Thursday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. in the
Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Eubanks
officiating. Burial followed in Pisgah Cemetery.
Mrs. Crews was born November 29, 1915 in McEwen,
Tennessee to the late Charlie James and Ocie "Climer"
James. She was retired from Henry I. Siegel Company and
a member of the Marlsboro Baptist Church. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Crews.
Survivors include: one son, Billy (Joyce) Crews of
Huntingdon; and three sisters, Velmer Hastings of Vale,
Marguerite Rodgers of Bruceton, and Natalee (Eugene)
Crews of Camden.
DAISY ELLEN KEHRER
1921-2007
HUNTINGDON: Daisy Ellen Kehrer, 85, died Tuesday,
January 9, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation
Center. Funeral services were Friday, January 12, at
1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro.
Ricky Crossno, Bro. Nathan Gulledge, and Bro. Dan
Winkler officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial
Gardens.
Mrs. Kehrer was born July 7, 1921 in West Frankfort,
Illinois to the late Fred Denham and Martha "Neibel"
Denham. She was retired from Hillhaven and a member of
Tate's Pentecostal Church. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Matthew Kehrer; one brother, Rosco
Eugene Denham; and one sister, Roberta Denham Jones.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jennetta Arline Brock
of Huntingdon and Shirley Ann Guinn of Westport; three
sons, Byford Lee Kehrer, Gene LeaVaughn Kehrer, and
Kenneth Wayne Kehrer, all of Huntingdon; one sister,
Laura May Schlag of Belle Rive, Illinois; four brothers,
Harvey Fred Denham of Belle Rive, Illinois, Harvey Levi
Denham of McClainsboro, Illinois, Vernon Udell Denham of
Minooka, Illinois, and Herbert Ulysses Denham of Mt.
Vernon, Illinois; 16 grandchildren, 30
great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren.
DANIEL H. "DANNY" SMITH
LAVINIA: Daniel H. "Danny" Smith, 56, a retired Goodyear
employee, died Sunday, January 7, at Baptist Memorial
Hospital in Union City. Funeral services were Thursday,
January 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in
Milan with burial in Campground Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Kay Smith of Union City;
one daughter, Angie (Russell) Neil of Troy; two sisters,
Patricia Smith of Nashville and Bettie Price of Lavinia;
three brothers, James Smith of Trezevant, Bobby Reed and
Ronnie Reed, both of Lavinia; and two grandchildren.
PATRICIA M. COLE
1951-2007
BUENA VISTA: Patricia M. Cole, 55, died Wednesday,
January 10, at her home. Funeral services were Thursday,
January 11, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral
Home with Bro. Jamie Sprayberry and Bro. Dwayne Brown
officiating. Burial followed in Cole Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Cole was born February 6, 1951 in Lauderdale County
to the late Guy Harold Henson and Nannie Marie (Elrod)
Henson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Greater
Life Church. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Paul Cole.
Survivors include: one daughter, Christie (Dwayne)
Maness of Buena Vista; one son, Joe (Nea) Cole of Buena
Vista; two sisters, Sharon (Freddie) Cole of Jackson and
Denise (Ricky) Blankenship of Halls; one brother, Harold
(Polly) Henson; and four grandchildren.
BILLY RAY PINKLEY
1959-2007
HOLLOW ROCK: Billy Ray Pinkley, 47, died Tuesday,
January 9, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Gravesite services were Thursday, January 11, at 2 p.m.
at New Salem Cemetery in Bethel Springs with Bro.
Matthew Floyd officiating.
Mr. Pinkley, a self-employed carpenter, was born
December 28, 1959 in Jackson. He was preceded in death
by his father, Charles Edward Pinkley.
Survivors include: his mother, Sarah King Pinkley of
Finger; a special friend, Debbie Olds of Hollow Rock;
one son, Chris Pinkley of Bruceton; two sisters, Teresa
(Sam) Estock of Yuma and Lori (Ronnie) Baker of
Westport; two brothers, Robert (Charity) Pinkley of
Bruceton and Martin Pinkley, Sr. of Finger; and several
nieces and nephews.

SCOTT WAYNE "SCOTTY" MCDONALD
1979-2006
CAMDEN: Scott Wayne "Scotty" McDonald, 27, died
Wednesday, January 10, at Camden General Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 13, at 11 a.m.
in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with burial in
Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris.
Mr. McDonald was born July 18, 1979 in Lubbock, Texas.
He graduated from Benton County High School in 1999 and
worked five years for DuPont as a forklift driver. He
was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Capps
McDonald.
Survivors include: his father, Jackie (Barbara) McDonald
of Paris; two sisters, Roxanna (James) Hatley of
McKenzie and Angel McDonald of Paris; and two
step-sisters, Meredith (Bryan) Scott of Hendersonville
and Savanna Watkins of Goodlettsville.
JERRY DAN TREADWELL
1945-2007
ATWOOD: Jerry Dan Treadwell, 61, died Tuesday, January
9, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were
Friday, January 12, at 10 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home
with Elder T.L. Webb officiating. Burial followed in
Pratt Cemetery in Bradford.
Mr. Treadway was born April 17, 1945 to the late William
H. Treadwell and Lela Armstrong. He was an employee of
Tri-County Transportation.
Survivors include: a special friend, Joe Ann Weaver of
Atwood; one son, William Tracy Treadwell of Blacksburg,
South Carolina; one daughter, Lisa Mulherin of
Brownsville; one step-son, Chris Weaver of Trezevant;
two brothers, Curtis Treadwell and Roy Treadwell, both
of Milan; one sister, Rutha Robertson of Trenton; and
five grandchildren.
WALTER DENNIS BYARS, SR.
1926-2007
GENEVA, ILLINOIS: Rev. Walter Dennis Byars, Sr., 80,
died Wednesday evening, January 10, at Provena Geneva
Care Center in Geneva, Illinois. Funeral services were
at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, at Long Rock
Methodist Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Max Garner
officiating. Burial followed at Long Rock Methodist
Church Cemetery.
Mr. Byars was born July 12, 1926 in Huntingdon to the
late Katie Jane VanCleave Byars and John Edward Byars.
He attended school in Huntingdon and later moved to
Rockford, Illinois where he made his home for many
years. He was a retired minister of the Pentecostal
faith. He pastored First Pentecostal Church in Rockford,
Illinois for 20 years. He dearly loved pastoring and
missionary work. He was also a printer and a builder,
building with his own hands the church he pastored and
his family home. One of the great joys of his life was
his hobby of beekeeping. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Lucille; two sons, Walter Dennis Byars, Jr. and
Timothy Alan Byars; three sisters, five brothers and his
parents.
Survivors include: five children and their spouses,
Stephanie (Max) Garner of Jackson, Melissa (Randy)
Averso of Oklahoma City, OK, Daniel (Laura) Byars of
Geneva, IL, Rebecca (David) Mueller of Houston, TX and
Margaret (Scott) Hoffman of Machesney Park, IL, 13
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

MARGARET JUNE FISHER
1938-2007
LAVINIA: Margaret June Fisher, 68, died Sunday, January
14, at her home. Funeral services will be Wednesday,
January 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral
Home. Interment will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
Mrs. Fisher was born June 12, 1938 to the late Claude
Reed Park and Hazel Allen (Gregory) Park. She was a
member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and
retired from the Milan Arsenal. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Larry Eugene Reed; one daughter,
Deborah Jean Reilly; one brother, Terry Blake Park; and
one sister, Mary Kathleen Park.
Survivors include: two daughters, Teresa (Johnny)
Bartholomew of Huntingdon and Joy (Steve) Brasher of
Milan; two sons, Chuck (Tracy) Reed of Huntingdon and
Richard (Darre) Reed of Milan; five brothers, Thomas
(Helen) Park of Macon, Georgia, Joe A. Park of Dewey,
Arizona, Harry (Mary) Park of Yatesville, Georgia,
Lawton (Evelyn) Park of Barnesville, Georgia, and John (LaRae)
Park of Madison, Alabama; three sisters, Barbara (Wade)
McPherson of Livonia, Michigan, Corrine (Joseph) Stock
of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Jane (Gordon) Cutler of
Carmel, Indiana; a special friend, John Randals; twelve
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room
of Chase Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on
Tuesday and from 12:00 noon until time of services on
Wednesday.
JOHN KENNETH HOUSTON
1929-2007
HUNTINGDON: John Kenneth Houston, 77, died Thursday,
January 11, at his home. Funeral services were Sunday,
January 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Huntingdon First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Dossie Wheatley, Dr. Bill
Bailey, Dr. Jerry Jeffords, and Dr. Jim Cooper
officiating. Burial followed in the Long Rock Cemetery.
Mr. Houston was born December 14, 1929 to the late
Haywood Ernest Houston and Annie Lou (Elam) Houston. He
was a member of Huntingdon First United Methodist
Church, a City Recorder for the Town of Huntingdon, a
retired warrant officer for the Army (serving in Korea
and Vietnam), and a member of the Huntingdon Masonic
Lodge #106.
Survivors include: his wife whom he married April 11,
1954, Betty (Pinson) Houston; one son, Patrick Kenneth
(Alison) Houston of Gatlinburg; and three grandchildren.

KENNETH E. WALLACE
1942-2007
MCKENZIE: Kenneth E. Wallace, 64, died Thursday, January
11, at Oak Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were
Saturday, January 13, 2 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home,
McKenzie with Bro. Dewayne Thomas officiating. Burial
followed at Parkers Cross Road Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace was born August 26, 1942 in Gibson County to
Milburn E. Wallace and Vina Coleman, both deceased. He
was preceded in death by his parents and his wife,
Dorothy Wallace.
Survivors include: one daughter, Amanda Wallace of Henry
County; three sons, Milburn Wallace of Camden, Allen
Wallace of McKenzie, and Paul Ray Wallace of Henry
County; four brothers, Carlton Wallace of Cades, Tenn.,
Jerry "Kebo" Wallace of McKenzie, Larry Wallace of
Dresden, and Ralph "Danny" Wallace of Billington, West
Virginia; two sisters, Betty Sue Wallace of McKenzie and
Rebecca Faye Hampton of Yuma.

AGNES JOSIEPHINE RIGSBY
1920-2007
CEDAR GROVE: Agnes Josiephine Rigsby, 86, died Saturday,
January 13, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 16, at 1 p.m. at
Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church with Bro. Roger
Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Rigsby was born May 2, 1920 in Cedar Grove to the
late Rice and Ollie Jon Kelly Grogan. She was a member
of Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church and a retired
employee of Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Glendale,
California. Other than her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Robert C. Rigsby.
Survivors include: three daughters, Melba Kober of
Huntingdon, Linda Young of Big Bear Lake, California,
and Mary Jo Kelly of Cedar Grove; one son, Michael
Rigsby of Cedar Grove; five grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.

JAMES H. CARTER
WOODRIDGE, ILLINOIS: James H. Carter, 63, died Saturday,
January 13. Funeral services will be Friday, January 19,
at 10:00 a.m. at Carter's Chapel Church with Bro. Don
Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Carter's
Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Martha Nee Reimer; one
daughter, Joyce (William) Miller; one son, Jim (Patti)
Carter; his mother, Verdell Carter; four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Chase Funeral Home
from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

ELDON C. ROARK
1917-2007
NASHVILLE: Eldon C. Roark, 89, formerly of Huntingdon,
died Sunday, January 14, at Southern Hills Hospital in
Nashville. Funeral services were Tuesday, January 16, at
11 a.m. at Huntingdon Church of Christ with Bro. Dan
Winkler and Mark Gooch officiating. Burial followed in
Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Roark was born March 6, 1917 in Huntingdon to the
late Arthur Marion and Ruby Springer Roark. He was a
retired employee of the United States Post Office with
34 years of service and a World War II Army veteran.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two
wives, Mary D. Yancey Roark and Mae Pendergrass Roark;
four sisters, Inus Holladay, Vida Gooch, Charlene
Warbritton and Maudine Barnett.
Survivors include: three step-daughters, Yvonne (Rick)
Norman, Janet (Hal) Rice and Linda Warbritton, all of
Nashville; a sister, Jean (Roark) Gooch; six
step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. until
8 p.m. at Huntingdon Church of Christ and Tuesday from 9
a.m. until time of service.

HUNTINGDON: Ben Jerry Clark, 61, died Friday, January
12, at Methodist Central Hospital. Funeral services will
be Wednesday, January 17, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of
Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in New Crossroads Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born November 11, 1945 in Gibson County to
the late Earl and Bessie Cole Clark.
Survivors include: two sisters, Joyce (Max) Walker of
Yuma and Marion (Joe) Smith of Memphis; and two
brothers, Ray (Marilyn) Clark of Strawberry, Arkansas
and John Clark of Huntingdon.
CONNIE ARZEL PRICE
1928-2007
CEDAR GROVE: Connie Arzel Price, 78, died Sunday,
January 14, at West Tennessee Transitional Care in
Jackson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 17,
at 11 a.m. at Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian
Church with Rev. Robert Barger officiating. Burial will
follow in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Price was born October 15, 1928. He was a retired
electrician and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Denise Price of Cedar
Grove; one son, Warren Price of Cedar Grove; two
daughters, Nanette Gateley and Vanessa Coker, both of
Cedar Grove; five grandchildren and six
