The Idi-Odyssey is a farce of Homer’s story
of The Odyssey. In this modern twist, the
story is set in a classroom as a teacher
tutors a group of students on Homer’s story.
Even the characters have been transformed to
modern day. Poseidon wears a floatie and
flippers. Telemachus is a wimp, who carries
a blankie and teddy bear. Homer, the poet of
the original story, is compared to Homer
Simpson –beer belly and all. Hermes is an
airhead UPS person. The farce does not
contain any Lotus Eaters, rather hippie-like
Lettuce Eaters. All these characters come to
life as Dr. Hamilton, the classroom teacher,
lectures the students, who include a sports
jock, nerd, cheerleader, and Goth.
Why does Athena have to give Poseidon some
