How to Improve Endurance and Save Time |

During a recent fitness presentation in
Palm Springs, I was asked a question that
didn't have a specific study to support an
absolutely clear answer.
The question; when someone begins the Sprint
8 cardio program on a recumbent bike and
only does a few of the eight sprints
initially because they are not conditioned
for high-intensity cardio, will they still
benefit?
A major new study published in the Applied
Journal of Physiology now brings absolute
clarity to this question.
Researchers show that when comparing just a
few 30-second cardio sprints to traditional
long, slow cardio, there is a 4 to 1
time-saving, efficiency advantage for the
sprints, even if it's not the full eight
sprints of the Sprint 8 cardio program.
In other words, a 20-minute program that
includes only four of the Sprint 8 cardio
sprints (which is recommended initially to
newcomers for the build up to the full
Sprint 8) is equal to one full hour of long
slow cardio.
Researchers report: Given the large
difference in training volume, these data
demonstrate that SIT (low volume sprint
training) is a time-efficient strategy to
induce rapid adaptations in skeletal muscle
and exercise performance,
Keep in mind the goal is to build up to all
eight sprints of the Sprint 8 and reach the
exercise-induced growth hormone benchmarks
within the 20-minute cardio program. But
even during the build-up phase that prepares
the body for higher intensity cardio and
develops fast-twitch muscle fiber, there are
huge time gains over traditional long, slow
cardio programs.
The time advantage can now be measured. And
there's a huge benefit for time-crunched
adults of 1 minute of Sprint 8 (and this
includes the recovery period) versus 4
minutes of traditional cardio.
Once the build-up phase is completed and
your fast-twitch fiber, and heart and lungs
are conditioned for all 8 sprints, you have
positioned your body to tap into the
benefits of the most powerful body-fat
cutting, muscle-toning substance known in
science.
Make the Sprint 8 commitment today, and
perhaps consider taking the Sprint 8 Cardio
Challenge. You may win an award-winning
piece of home cardio equipment made by
