Convenience Store Robber Bound Over in Carroll County

A Jackson man was bound over in Carroll County General Sessions Court during the January 23-24 session in connection with recent convenience store robberies in Trezevant and McLemoresville.

Bryan P. Jordan, 29, of 105 Cartmell Street, Jackson, is charged with theft over $500, two counts of aggravated robbery, and especially aggravated kidnapping.

According to reports by Police Chief David Smith of the Trezevant Police Department, on November 28, 2007, Jordan entered Libby’s Quik Stop in Trezevant and demanded money from the clerk using a weapon. After Jordan was given money from the register, he bound the clerk’s hands behind her back, escorted her to the back of the store and forced her to lie face down in the floor, putting her in fear of her life.

On December 19, 2007, Carroll County Investigator David Bunn reported that an armed robber entered Grace’s Kwik Store in McLemoresville and left with an undetermined amount of cash from the register. He walked to the back of the store probably in an effort to make sure no other customers were in the store. He then approached the cashier’s counter and demanded money at gunpoint.

Video camera captured photos of the suspect at both locations during the robbery.

Jordan was arrested in Madison County December 27 when response to an armed robbery there led to the eventual arrest of Jordan. At the time of the robberies, he was carrying what appeared to be a sawed-off single shot shotgun.

Jordan was identified as the robber in the local crimes after a photo lineup was shown to witnesses at both the Trezevant and McLemoresville convenience stores.

Following the McLemoresville robbery, local resident Harold Blow followed the suspects vehicle to Trezevant and provided authorities a description of the truck and partial license plate number.

When the suspect was arrested, he was driving a vehicle similar to what was seen leaving the armed robbery at the McLemoresville store, according to a Carroll County Sheriff’s Department press release.
