MCKENZIE
Farmers and craft makers now have an
outlet to sell their products each month in
a new Farmers and Crafts Market. The Bethel
College SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise)
team is hosting a farmers and crafts market
in McKenzie the first weekend of every
month. The market is open to individuals who
want to market and sell their product.
We encourage anyone who makes anything
at home such as quilts, furniture, or even
pies to come out and sell their goods, said
Sandy Nasif. Beginning Saturday August 2,
the market opens 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. and on
Sunday, August 3, from 1 p.m. until dark
across the street from Town Square and
behind Super Drugs store. Due to limited
space, anyone interested in selling products
must call 615-428-2111 to reserve a spot
free of charge.
This monthly event is sponsored by SIFE
(Students in Free Enterprise), an
international non-profit organization active
on more than 1,400 university campuses in 47
countries. Through SIFE, students are able
to apply skills learned in the classroom to
create economic opportunities in their
communities by organizing outreach projects
that focuses on market economics,
entrepreneurship, financial literacy,
success skills, and business ethics. |
