MCKENZIE, TN - Bethel College's 2008
Homecoming Weekend is Friday and Saturday,
Oct. 17-18, on the Bethel College campus.
Events begin at 11 a.m. on Friday and
conclude with the Wildcat Football game and
Homecoming dance Saturday evening, according
to Mary Ann Autry, assistant to the director
of development and alumni relations.
The Reunion Extravaganza with
Renaissance, The Bethel College Performing
Arts Experience, is Friday at 7:30 p.m. in
Bouldin Auditorium of the Dickey Fine Arts
Building and Saturday at 2;30 p.m.
"This is for the entire community, and
it's free. So is the Homecoming parade on
Saturday morning, which begins on Bethel
Court at 10:30 a.m."
Parade participants will move from Bethel
Court onto Cherry Street and then turn left
onto Stonewall Street. They will make their
way downtown around the square and then come
back down Cedar Avenue, and take a right
back onto College Drive and back to campus.
Other Homecoming events for community
members include:
The Lollar Library Grand Opening is at 11
a.m. Saturday. The Lollar Library is in the
former home of the late Laddie and Dee Dee
Lollar and is located on Stonewall Street in
McKenzie.
A Lady Wildcat Basketball Scrimmage is in
the Baker Fieldhouse at 11 a.m., on
Saturday.
A Wildcat Soccer Game against
Freed-Hardeman University is at 1 p.m., and
a Lady Wildcat game against Freed-Hardeman
begins at 3 p.m., at the Bethel soccer field
on College Drive.
A Wildcat Alumni Baseball game also
begins at 1 p.m., at Wildcat Park on campus,
and an alumni softball game begins at the
same time on the Lady Wildcat Field.
A second free performance by Renaissance,
The Bethel College Performing Arts
Experience, is at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the
Bouldin Auditorium at the Dickey Fine Arts
Building.
Wildcat Football against West Virginia
Tech begins at 6 p.m., at Wildcat Stadium on
College Drive. Tickets can be purchased at
the gate. All seating is general admission.
Prices are: $10 for 18 and over; $5 for 11
to 17, and children 10 and under get in
free.
