WILLIAM WESLEY "BILL" DILL
1931-2008
HUNTINGDON: William Wesley "Bill" Dill, 76, died Monday, February 4, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, February 7, at 2 p.m. at Huntingdon First Baptist Church with Bro. George Hill officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dill was born February 11, 1931 in Carroll County to the late Hurshel and Lola Jane Johnson Dill. He was a member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church and self-employed. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Gracie Robinson.
Survivors include: three sisters, Raymell Arrington of Huntingdon, Betty Norton of Hampton, Georgia, and Linda Walker of Florence, Kentucky; one brother, Roy Gene Dill of Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HAVIS L. LAPRADE
1931-2008
HUNTINGDON: Havis Lamar Laprade, 76, died Tuesday, February 5, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Memorial services were Saturday, February 9, at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Pontotoc, Mississippi.
Mr. Laprade was born April 18, 1931 in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late William and Lauell Gentry Laprade. He was a retired store manager for Fred's. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita P. Laprade; and one sister, Gorldean Wardlaw.
Survivors include: one son, Tim Laprade, and two granddaughters, all of Huntingdon.
Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

RUBY MAY O'BRYAN DAVIS STANCIL
BENTON, KENTUCKY: Ruby May O'Bryan Davis Stancil, 86, died Monday, February 4, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Friday, February 8, at 1 p.m. at Filbeck-Cann and King Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Joel Frizzell officiating. Burial followed in Briensburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Stancil was born to the late Aaron Howard O'Bryan, Sr. and Daisy Talley O'Bryan. She was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Ray Stancil; one brother, Ray O'Bryan; and one sister, Lottie Herron.
Survivors include: three sons, William Earl Davis and Donald Davis, both of Benton, Kentucky, and Ernest Eugene "Gene" Davis of Osseo, Michigan; five sisters, Frances Altman of Cades, Rebecca Joyce Price of Waverly, Helen Viola Burke of Tampa, Florida, Rachel Ralph of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Cathy Hammonds of Jackson; three brothers, Hugh Edward "Sam" O'Bryan of Cedar Grove, Billy Wayne O'Bryan of Somersworth, New Hampshire, and Aaron Howard O'Bryan, Jr. of Huntingdon; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

MARY KATHERINE MORGAN
1921-2008
HUNTINGDON: Mary Katherine Morgan, 87, died Tuesday, February 5, at Bells Nursing Home. Funeral services were Thursday, February 7, at Union Academy Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Warner officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: one daughter, Beverly (Tommy) Warner of Friendship; one sister, Ruth Duke of Milan; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dilday Funeral Home of Huntingdon was in charge of services.

SARAH ANN OLIVER LENOX
1937-2008
TREZEVANT: Sarah Ann Oliver Lenox, 70, died Tuesday, February 5, at N.H.C. Healthcare in Milan. Funeral services were Thursday, February 7, at 10:00 a.m. at First General Baptist Church in Milan with Rev. Donnie White officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Milan.
Mrs. Lenox was born November 24, 1937 in Carroll County to the late Jessie and Martha Louise Newbill Oliver. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lakeshore Bible Church of Harger Shore, Michigan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Frank Lenox, and one grandchild.
Survivors include: her husband, Franklin D. Lenox of Trezevant; two sons, Vincent D. Lenox and Hank E. Lenox, both of Trezevant; two daughters, Robin Ann Ryan of South Haven, Michigan and Bethany Ann Williams of Milan; one brother, Jessie Wayne Oliver of McKenzie; one sister, Betty D. Griffith of McKenzie; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

MAGGIE BYARS PASCHALL
1914-2008
MURRAY, KENTUCKY: Maggie Byars Paschall, 93, died Monday, February 4, at Spring Creek Health Care Center in Murray. Funeral services were Friday, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home in Murray with Dr. Jerrell White, Rev. Martin Severns and Rev. Carlos Owens officiating. Burial followed in the Murray City Cemetery.
Mrs. Paschall was born May 21, 1914 in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Zffie Stamps Byars. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and quilting. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Clydie Walker, Carlos Byars, Arlos Byars, and James Byars; five sisters, Beulah Flood, Mae Gallimore, Katherine Vaughn, Robbie Flood Rowland, and Irene Hard; and one grandson, Kenneth Ayers, II.
Survivors include: two daughters, Evelyn Ayers of Paris and Darryel (J.T.) Lee of Murray; four sons, Carves (Darlene) Paschall of McKenzie, George (Betty) Paschall, Dudley (Sandra) Paschall, and Edward Paschall, all of Nashville; one sister, Dorothy Attebury (George) Bauman of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

ADDIE H. CARTER
1915-2008
HUNTINGDON: Addie H. Carter, 92, died Monday, February 4, at Regional Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, at 12 noon at Dilday Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Parker officiating. Burial followed in Humbles Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born November 8, 1916 in Wildersville to the late Joseph Seets and Annie B. Parker. She married C. J. Carter. To this union was born one daughter, Zuelean Johnson and one son, Robert L. Carter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; son; four sisters, Jeverlee Douglas, Mildred E. Porter, Betty J. Anderson, Mary House; and one brother, Eff Seets. Survivors include: one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.

RUBY EVA SHACKELFORD
1912-2008
CEDAR GROVE: Ruby Eva Shackelford, 95, died Saturday, February 9, at Huntingdon Health and Rehab. Funeral services were Monday, February 11, at 1 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Bernice Birdwell officiating. Burial followed in New Bethel Cemetery.
Mrs. Shackelford was born July 12, 1912, to the late Joseph and Onie Graves Woodard. She attended Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Shackelford; two brothers, Vaughn Woodard and Elvis Woodard; and one sister, Zelma Rushing.
Survivors include: four sons, James (Elizabeth) Shackelford of Lexington, Harold (Emily) Shackelford of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Roy (Peggy) Shackelford of Oakfield, and Glynn (Kay) Shackelford of Bradford; one sister, Willie Douglas of Trezevant; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ALMA RUTH CUNNINGHAM ADKISSON
1934-2008
HUNTINGDON: Alma Ruth Cunningham Adkisson, 73, died Monday, February 4. Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Trezevant with Rev. Chris Pipkin officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Adkisson was born April 6, 1934 in Trezevant to the late Willie L. Cunningham and Irene Dyer Cunningham. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Adkisson; and one brother, Willie I. Cunningham, Jr.; and one daughter.
Survivors include: three daughters, Elizabeth Strickland of Milan, Charlotte Hunt and Kollest Hunt, both of Chicago, Illinois; one son, Willie Thomas Adkisson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and one grandchild.

ANDREW JOHNSON
1935-2008
CEDAR GROVE: Andrew Johnson, 72, died Wednesday, February 6, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Shields officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born July 26, 1935 in Huntingdon to the late Henry L. Johnson and Corine (Hampton) Johnson. He retired from Columbus McKinnon after 20 years and was a member of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: his wife, Lealaiegh Johnson of Cedar Grove; four sons, Carl Johnson, Keith Johnson, Harold Johnson, all of Columbus, Ohio, and John L. (Delois) Johnson of Dresden; one stepson, James (Needis) Bailey of Cedar Grove; one stepdaughter, Lorrie Ann Johnson of Cedar Grove; six sisters, Maxine Davis, Lula Mae Brown, Eardie Ruth Craft, Vina (Elder L.C.) Dorsey all of Champaign, Illinois, Hester (Bill) Zellner of Columbus, Ohio and Sarah (James) Webb of Bruceton; seven grandchildren and one stepgrandson.

MAVIE CAROLYN WALKER
1909-2008
HUNTINGDON: Mavie Carolyn (Anderson) Walker, 98, died Sunday, February 10, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Graveside services were Tuesday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating.
Mrs. Walker was born August 1, 1909 in Big Sandy to the late Andy and Carrie (Hampton) Winters. She was a retired inspector for the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of Davis Chapel United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Anderson; her second husband, Albert Walker; one daughter, Wilma Geraldine Anderson; one son, Wallace Everitt Anderson; two sisters, Lillian Winters and Jewell Mannon; and three brothers, Edward Winters, Harvey Winters, and Earlie Winters.
Survivors include: one daughter, Bobie Joe Anderson (Prentice G.) Kirk of Paris; one son, Jerry Clayton (Gloria) Anderson of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

JIMMY RAY PEARSON
1947-2008
HUNTINGDON: Jimmy Ray Pearson, 61, died Friday, February 8, at his home. Funeral services were Sunday, February 10, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in Leach Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery.
Mr. Pearson was born January 18, 1947 in Lexington and was raised by the late Ike and Myrtle Melton. He was employed by the Milan Arsenal for many years and was a member of the Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was also preceded in death by one stepsister, Shirlene Floyd.
Survivors include: his wife of 41 years, Brenda (Barger) Pearson; two sons, Kiley (Stephanie) Pearson and Johnny (Lori) Pearson of Huntingdon; one brother, Wylie (Martha) Pearson of Huntingdon; one half sister, Anna Lee Ramsey of Maine; two stepsisters, Zulla Hall of Lexington and Jerri Young of Bruceton; and five grandchildren.

CARRIE ELLA STAFFORD
1923-2008
YUMA: Carrie Ella Stafford, 84, died Friday, February 8, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Saturday, February 9, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Burial followed at Sellers Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Stafford was born August 10, 1923 in Cherokee, Alabama to the late Charles Wesley Ham and Minie Kaye (Victory) Ham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Tate Holiness Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Roy Stafford; three sons, O'Neal Stafford, Harold Stafford, and Roger Stafford; and four brothers, Henry Ham, Bill Ham, Tom Ham and Paul Ham.
Survivors include: four daughters, Christine Cavera, Delores (Fidel) Tejeda, Glynda (Roy) Denning, Connie (Ricky) Patterson, all of Yuma; three sons, Joseph "Tony" (Sha) Stafford, Donald (Brenda) Stafford, and Willie (Margarita) Stafford, all of Yuma; one sister, Katherine Ham of Alabama; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
