CLARKSBURG (March 26) — In high school baseball action, the West Carroll War Eagles utilized the pitching of Jeremy Blackwell (2-1) and the hitting of Dalton Dunn (2-3), Naylor Cryer (2-2, double) and doubles by Tyler Nelson and Blackwell to defeat Clarksburg 6-1.

Clarksburg was led offensively by Tyler Epperson (2-2, double) and Luke Williams (double).

West Carroll scored one run in the first, four runs in the second and one run in the third to lead 4-0.

War Eagle pitcher Blackwell held the Rockets scoreless for three innings until Clarksburg scored their lone run in the fourth.

Rocket hurler Derek Byrd (0-4) absorbed the loss.

Following scoreless fifth and sixth innings, West Carroll claimed a 6-1 district road victory.

With the win, the War Eagles’ record improved to 4-3.
