ATWOOD (March 31) — In District 13A high school baseball, the Huntingdon Mustangs unleashed a nine-run scoring barrage in the bottom of the third inning to defeat the West Carroll War Eagles 12-1.

Trailing West Carroll 1-0, Huntingdon scored three runs to take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Following a scoreless second inning, Huntingdon unleashed a nine-run scoring attack to widen their lead to 12-1.

Holding the War Eagles scoreless in the fourth inning, Mustang hurler Cole McAdams (3-0) held West Carroll scoreless in their final four innings to claim a 12-1 victory.

Huntingdon was led offensively by Lucas Dill (2-3, home run) and McAdams (2-3). Mustang’s Brayden Baxter, Blake Burke and Colin Hatch homered in the contest.

War Eagle pitcher Jeremy Blackwell absorbed the loss.

With the win, the Mustangs season record improved to 10-4, 3-0 in district play.
