War Eagle Troy Williams scores against Riverside.

HUNTINGDON (December 29) -- In Huntingdon Point Guard Coca Cola Basketball Tournament action, the West Carroll War Eagles battled back from a 33-24 halftime deficit to defeat the Riverside Panthers 74-66.

Led by the inside scoring of Lee Scott (6), Riverside led the War Eagles 12-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Playing aggressively in the block, Scott continued to pace the Panther offense, scoring 12 points to give his team a 33-24 lead at the half.

Employing a half-court press and swarming defense in the paint, West Carroll held Panther Scott scoreless in the third period. Capturing its first lead 41-39 at the 3:38 mark via a Thomas Greer three-point conversion, the War Eagles outscored the Panthers 25-12 to lead 49-45 at the start of the fourth period.
