The very popular annual Cancer Bake Auction begins Monday, April 14 and continues through Friday, April 18. The five-day event is broadcast on WHDM 1440 AM and 98.9 FM each afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m. Again this year, the event is at Winston Hall, McKenzie Church of Christ on North Highland Drive. Please come by and look over the items and bid or call 358-9112, 358-9232, or 358-9506 to place your bid.
Monday's auction includes Jim Roberts as auctioneer, the Lions Club answering phone lines, and contributing bakers from McKenzie Church of Christ, Concord Missionary Baptist Church, and relay team, McKenzie Elementary School.
Auctioneer Mark Warren will direct Tuesday's auction with McKenzie Rotary Club answering the phone lines. Bakers include: Grace Baptist, Bethel Baptist Church, and Relay Teams: Oak Manor, McKenzie Banking, Republic, McKenzie Healthcare, and A Place Called Home.
Wednesday's auctioneer is Tim McBride with McKenzie Medical Center answering phone lines. Bakers include: McKenzie Methodist Church, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and Generations relay teams: McKenzie Medical, McKenzie Middle School, Profile Metal, and McKenzie High School.
Carroll County Mayor, Kenny McBride, will direct Thursday's auction with McKenzie Regional Hospital answering phone lines. Bakers include First Baptist Church, Enon Baptist Church, and relay team, McKenzie Regional Hospital.
Bro. Kenny Carr will serve as auctioneer on Friday, the final day of the auction. Relay For Life Committee members will answer the phone lines. Bakers include: Greater Enon Baptist Church, Johnson Temple Church, and Long Heights Baptist, which is also a relay team.
Items should be delivered to Winston Hall at McKenzie Church of Christ any auction day after 6:45 a.m. All items should be labeled by the type of item and contributor.
Auction organizers ask that successful bidders pick up items at Winston Hall prior to 5 p.m. on day of purchase. All proceeds from the auction go to the American Cancer Society Carroll North Relay For Life, to help in the fight against cancer.
