The team, which includes WCES students Hope Coleman, Hunter Lindsey, Jaycan Martin, Luke Moore, Natalie Moore, Erin Norman, Amaya Thompson, Riley Weaver and Kaleigh Wilson, was honored in Washington, D.C. The team was also selected as a finalist at the national level, as they had been in 2012 when they earned Tennessee school of the year too.
In other new business, the board reelected board officers preceding the Energy Explorers presentation. Board members unanimously chose to keep Jimmy Halford as Chairman, Mike Foster as Vice-Chairman and Jim Pirtle as Treasurer (all three were elected in the same capacity in 2012), while assigning board member Greg McClain as Tennessee Legislative Network representative.
