TROY ELBERT OATSVALL
1944 - 2008
HUNTINGDON: Troy Elbert Oatsvall, 64, died
Thursday, October 2, at St. Thomas Hospital
in Nashville. Funeral services were Sunday,
October 5, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home
with Bro. Fred Ward and Bro. James Brooks
officiating. Burial followed in Palmer
Shelter Cemetery.
Mr. Oatsvall was born July 13, 1944 in
Carroll County. He owned and operated Troy's
Barber Shop; he received his real estate
license in 2001 and joined Century 21 Abbott
Realty in 2005. Troy was a member of the
Tennessee Valley Association of Realtors and
the National Association of Realtors. He had
been a consistent multi-million dollar
producer with Century 21 and was in the top
ten in 2007 with TVAR. He was also a former
Carroll County Commissioner, a current
member of the Carroll County Civil Service
Commission, a Ruritan Club member, and a
member of First Baptist Church in
Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by his
father, William Elbert Oatsvall.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda (Dotson)
Oatsvall of Huntingdon; his mother, Cluster
Mae (Ashby) Oatsvall of Huntingdon; one
daughter, Dayna (Van) Smith of Huntingdon;
one stepdaughter, Lisa (Charles) Beard of
Nashville; one son, Stephen Troy (Lisa)
Oatsvall of McKenzie; two stepsons, Mike
(Mia) Spence of Korea and Tommy (Becky)
Spence of Ashville, North Carolina; one
sister, Patsy Marie (Clevie) Gooch of
Jackson; and ten grandchildren.
TIMOTHY EDWARD HOLLAND
1980 - 2008
HUNTINGDON: Timothy Edward Holland 28, died
Monday, September 29, in Fayette County from
an automobile accident. Funeral services
were Friday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at Chase
Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Burton and Bro.
Bobby Jordan officiating. Burial followed in
Hampton Cemetery.
Mr. Holland was born May 3, 1980 in
McKenzie. He was a member of the Solid Rock
Ministries Church and a truck driver for Big
Rig Express. He was preceded in death by his
maternal grandparents, Bill and Mae Evelyn
Campbell; paternal grandparents, Carl and
Letha Holland; and paternal
great-grandparent, Paralee Stewart.
Survivors include: his wife, Gwen Holland;
parents, Ed and Jean Holland; fiancιe,
Valerie Collins; paternal
great-grandparents, Bill and Floye Holland;
two daughters, Grace Holland and Morgan
Qualls; three sons, Dylan Collins, Ethan
Galvan, and Grant Qualls; one brother, Josh
Holland; all of Huntingdon.
GEORGE FRANCIS OGNIBENE
1937-2008
MCKENZIE: George Francis Ognibene, 70, died
Sunday, October 5, at McKenzie Regional
Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday,
October 7, at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral
Home with Bro. Greg Barker officiating.
Burial followed at 3 p.m. in Oak Grove
Cemetery near Lexington with Bro. Dennis
Trull officiating.
Mr. Ognibene was born December 7, 1937 in
Chicago, Illinois to the late Francis
Patrick Ognibene and Stella Rakowski
Ognibene. He was a traffic manager for the
WF Hall Printing Company in Dresden, a U.S.
Army veteran, and member of McKenzie First
Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Beulah Mae Keen
Ognibene of McKenzie; one daughter, Patricia
Ann (Steve) Cothran of Milan; one son,
George (Jennifer) Ognibene of McKenzie; and
five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the McKenzie First
Baptist Church Youth Ministry Fund or the
Relay for Life for Carroll North.
JEWELL L. HASTINGS
1918-2008
SOUTH FULTON: Jewell L. Hastings, 90, died
Monday, October 6, at Weakley County Rehab
and Nursing Center in Dresden. Funeral
services are Wednesday, October 8, at 11
a.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton,
Kentucky with Bro. Miles Mayo officiating.
Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial
Gardens in Union City.
Mrs. Hastings was born April 24, 1918 in
Obion County to the late Jordan Alvin and
Mina (Bondurant) Ferguson. She was a
homemaker and member of the Smith Church of
Christ in South Fulton.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry and Samma
Hastings of Bruceton and Larry and Trudy
Hastings of South Fulton; one sister,
Juanita Johnson of South Fulton; two
brothers, Clifford Ferguson of South Fulton
and Ray Ferguson of Union City; five
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's
Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN
38105-1942 or Relay for Life, 302 Carr
Street, Fulton, KY 42041. |
