McKENZIE (June 18) — AHC McKenzie, a senior living and rehabilitation center in McKenzie, Tennessee, recently received a 2019 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living.
This national award is given to long-term care and skilled nursing facilities that demonstrate a commitment to providing quality care to their patients.
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award program lays out a multi-year pathway to help participating long-term care and rehabilitation facilities improve performance and ensure patient satisfaction. Applicants undergo a rigorous process to earn bronze, silver or gold awards, and an organization only becomes eligible for silver and gold awards after earning a bronze.
“We are excited to be recognized for our high standards and commitment to quality,” said Shawn Wall, administrator at AHC McKenzie. “We believe every patient and resident deserves great healthcare. This award shows we are constantly working toward our goal to be one of Tennessee’s premier skilled-nursing communities.”
AHC McKenzie is one of three American Health Communities to be recognized by AHCA/NCAL in 2019. AHC Northside in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and AHC Union City in Union City, Tenn., also earned the Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. To qualify for the bronze award, applicants assess their organization’s mission, vision, and key factors for success. They then use that information to develop new methods for boosting performance and improving patient outcomes. The award guidelines are based on the prestigious Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence, according to the AHCA/NCAL.
