GLEASON – Alan Craig Owen, 60, died at home on June 22 with his family by his side.

Funeral services are Monday, June 24, 6 p.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church near Gleason. Visitation at the church begins at 3 p.m. until service time.

Alan Craig Owen was the second son born to Robert (Bob) and Darreen Owen on December 5, 1958. Mr. Owen graduated from Gleason High School in 1976 and in 1982 he graduated from Bethel University. He worked at the Bank of Gleason for 35 years. Mr. Owen was a 3rd degree Mason and treasurer at the Gleason Masonic Lodge F&AM 330. For 32 years he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion during which time he served as a state and national officer. Mr. Owen was an active member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church. He also proudly served in the Gleason Rotary Club for 40 years.

Mr. Owen is survived by his brothers, Eric (Doris) Owen and Robert (Reesa) Owen of Gleason. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Erica (Casey) Ross, Blaine (Andi) Owen, Ellen (Grayson) Elmore, Kody (Elizabeth) Owen, Sam (Brittany) Owen, and James (Monica) Owen. Mr. Owen leaves behind six great-nephews and two great-nieces.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert (Bob) Owen and his mother, Darreen Owen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Owen’s memory to Hopewell Cemetery or Gleason Masonic Lodge.  Williams Funeral Home of Gleason had charge of arrangements.  (from the June 25, 2019 McKenzie Banner.)
