The Northwest Tennessee Beekeepers Association (NWTBA) presents its annual Beekeeping Short Course Saturday, January 19 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the University of Tennessee at Martin Skyhawk Press Box. Follow the NWTBA signs.
The class is for people interested in bees and beekeeping. Basics of beekeeping will be presented, such as the characteristics of bees, equipment needed for hives, and how to care for your bees. This is a good introduction to beekeeping for any who are considering setting up their own beehive.
Registration at the door is 8:30-9 a.m. Registration fee is $30 and includes the day’s presentations, lunch and a one-year membership to the NWTBA.
For more information and an application, call or email NWTBA President Wilbur Brewer at 731-819-2951 or dukeshome@outlook.com or Treasurer Bill Kehoe at 731-612-4494 or billkehoe70@gmail.com.
