Bethel, Eastside FCE Club News

Posted

The Family Community and Education club known as Bethel/Eastside FCE met for its monthly meeting in the lovely home of Pennye and Mary Mays. There were nine members present. The hostess for this event was Danita Laman who opened the meeting, after it was called to order by the president, with a devotion entitled Grandpa’s hands. The prayer was offered for the meal by Mary Mays, which was enjoyed by all with much merriment and good conversation.
The business portion of the evening began with the reading, in unison, of the Homemakers Club Creed. We then proceeded with the roll call which was answered by, “What is your favorite flower?” The minutes were read and accepted. Next was the treasury report.

Under old business: The articles we had collected were taken to The Carl Perkins Center. During that transaction it was mentioned they would like the blankets we had left from the Cancer Center, also they want more teddy bears. A motion was made and voted on to donate the blankets.
New business: FCE pins are on order. We have a member, Mrs. Betty Meggs, who has 60 years of perfect attendance. That is quite an achievement, to not have missed even one meeting in 60 years. In honor of that accomplishment she received the door prize.
The educational program was presented by Danita Laman on vitamin supplements. The hostess next month is Betty Meggs. Meeting was adjourned. Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day!
