McKENZIE — Homecoming 2018 will arrive with a roar as Bethel University Wildcats from all over the world return home to celebrate more than 176 years of students, faith, education and community. The Homecoming celebration begins on Monday, October 15 with a full slate of fun and engaging student events. Check Bethel’s website, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat for up-to-the-minute details.
At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, alumni and friends are invited to the opening of the Hidden Talents Art Exhibit in the Kathy Sacks Gallery. Other showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Also on Thursday is the Academic Theatre’s opening night performance of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. The play will be performed again at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with a final matinee performance on Sunday at 2 p.m.
A variety of activities are scheduled for Friday, October 19. Beginning at 10 a.m., the Carroll Lake Golf Club will host the Jerry Wilcoxson Memorial Golf Tournament. Participation in the three-person scramble is $120 per team. Alumni play for free. The entry fee includes green fees, cart, lunch and prizes. Also on Friday, the Bethel University Alumni Association will host an All-Decades Alumni Mixer from 7-9 p.m. at Connie’s Place on the Square in McKenzie.
