Carroll County ACT Scores

A Tennessee Education Department press release announced Tennessee public school ACT scores increased over last year with a statewide average composite score of 20.2. 2,000 additional students took the exam bringing the state’s participation rate up to 97 percent which is also a new record. The score results also show 1,463 more Tennessee public school graduates became eligible for the HOPE scholarship by earning composite scores of 21 or higher.
In Carroll County, McKenzie led the five special school districts with an average ACT score of 21.2 while Huntingdon scored 19.8, West Carroll and South Carroll both scored 19.4, and Hollow Rock-Bruceton scored 18.9. Nearby local scores include Henry County 20.3, Milan 20.5, and Weakley County 21.1. Germantown Municipal School District had the highest district ACT composite score for the third year in a row, posting a 25.9 average.
Additional results from the ACT scores include three districts statewide had more than 80 percent of their students scoring at or above a 21 on the ACT. More than 1,200 additional graduates hit all four college ready benchmarks on the test compared to 2017. 22 school districts had 100 percent of students participate in taking the ACT.
