Carroll County Sheriff’s ReportsAggravated Assault

October 16, 2018 - •A pair of men received multiple charges on October 7 in McKenzie.
According to a report given by Deputy Ethan Parham, he received a call from McKenzie Police Department who
advising they had a female subject at the department that had been physically assaulted. The victim had visible signs
of abuse and pictures were taken. Deputies responded to the address where the incident occurred and made contact
with the accused subject. Christopher Shawn Easley of 358 Park Street in McKenzie was placed under arrest. After a
firearm was found at the residence, Christopher Easley was charged with aggravated and domestic assault, along
with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon. During Easely’s arrest, another subject, Tavien Kavon Holland of
289 Highway 431 in Martin, ran from the house and fled from law enforcement on foot. Holland later returned to that
same residence and was arrested for vandalism and resisting.

Trespassing and Damage of Property
•A Milan man was arrested on October 2 for trespassing and damage of property.
Investigator Jackie Wallace charged Michael Douglas Smith, 25, of 34 Germantown Road in Milan with simple

trespassing and vandalism/damage of property. According Deputy Ethan Parham’s report, he responded to
Bethlehem Church Road in reference to a break-in. Parham made contact with the owner of the property who advised
he found the back door busted open and the floor vandalized. Estimated total cost of damages is $1,300. After the
incident was turned over to Investigator Jackie Wallace, the investigation revealed Michael Douglas Smith caused the
damages while forcing entry into the unoccupied house.

Public Intoxication
•A Yuma man was charged with public intoxication on October 6.
According to a report given by Deputy Dennis Adkins, Vincent Edward Chapple of 2175 Yuma Road was arrested
for public intoxication. Sergeant Eric Sawyers, along with Deputy Ethan Parham and Deputy Adkins, responded to a
complaint in reference to there being an unwanted person on someone’s property. After arriving at the property,
deputies found Vincent Chapple inside the residence. Chappel was acting erratic inside the residence, and once
outside, he continued to be defiant against instructions given by the deputies. Deputies believed Chappel to be under
the influence of illegal narcotics and determined he was a danger to himself and the public. Vincent Chappel was
then arrested and transported to jail.
