Cats Beat Falcons in Florida

TEMPLE TERRANCE, Florida — The Bethel Wildcats jump-started the 2019 portion of their schedule with a 96-84 win at Florida College Thursday night in Temple Terrance, Florida. With the victory the Cats moved to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the SSAC. The Falcons dropped to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the SSAC. It was the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Wildcats shot 51 percent in the first half and led 45-33 at the break. Chase Nappier led Bethel with ten points in the half.
Bethel maintained the lead throughout the second half and held on behind the scoring of Cayden Edmonson who scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the half. He also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Isaac Edmondson followed with 16 tallies. Nappier finished with 15 points while Bradley Walker tossed in 10. The Wildcats shot 51 percent in the game hitting 38 -of -76 shots. The Cats finished with a 41-35 advantage in rebounding. Bethel is 9-2 when winning the battle of the boards. Florida College actually outshot Bethel shooting 53 percent but took 14 fewer shots connecting on 33-of-62 attempts.
Andrew Voss led the Falcons with 21 points. The Wildcats remain on the road traveling to Mount Vernon, Georgia Saturday to meet Brewton-Parker at 3 p.m. CST.
