Foday Sankaray came off the bench and finished with 12 points. Chase Nappier and Charles Cobb contributed with 10 points each. Adrian Smith led the Hawks with 24 points.
Coach Jeff Britt said, “The good start really helped us. After that tough loss at Dalton State it was great to see how our young men responded coming out of the gate. Our defense and board work were both big factors. Cayden had a big first half while Isaac picked us up in the second. Foday’s two three’s in the second half were big plays, especially after they had made a bit of a run. Our bench as a whole was big outscoring them 31-7. We have a tough week ahead of us and we need to remain focused on the task at hand.”
The Wildcats travel to conference rival Loyola Thursday for a 7:30 tip against the Wolfpack. They play their last regular season road game Saturday at William Carey. They return home to close out their regular season February 21 against Stillman College and February 23 hosting Mobile. The SSAC Championships begin February 27 in Montgomery.
