Commission To Consider Industrial Board Appointments

Posted

Three appointments to the Carroll County Industrial Development Board are on the agenda for the January 14, 7 p.m. meeting in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, Huntingdon.

A resolution calls for the appointment of Brent Dillahunty, Chad Pinson and Mike Tate to the Carroll County Industrial Development Board with terms ending January 2023. They will replace outgoing members Lynn Compton, Tommy Crews, and Jerry Drewry, whose terms of service expired in January 2019.

After being dormant for many years, the county’s industrial board met once in 2018 to approve a payment in lieu of taxes proposal for Z-Line to locate in a vacant manufacturing facility in Bruceton. Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler is working to restart the board’s effort in industrial development.

If the appointments are approved, they will join the nine-member board, which includes Bob Rutledge, Danny Brawner, Don Reed, Andrea Browning, Joe Smothers, and Walter Butler, all of whom were appointed by the previous administration.

In other business, the commission will consider the following resolutions:

Resolution 1-1-2019 to appoint Jessie Turner to the Carroll County Library Board with a term ending June 2020.

Resolution 1-2-2019- Resolution to reappoint Willie Huffman and Bill Stoner to the Carroll County Airport Board with a term ending January 2023.

Resolution 1-4-2019- Resolution To appoint Keith Priestley and reappoint Stacey McCaleb to the Health and Educational Facilities Board with a term ending January 2023.

Resolution 1-5-2019- Resolution to urge the General Assembly to support the Restoration of Register’s Commission.

Resolution 1-6-2019- Resolution to transfer funds from Reserve Account for Carroll Academy to purchase two new vans for FY2018-19 Budget.

Resolution 1-7-2019- Resolution to transfer funds from Insurance Recovery Account to Liability Claim Account for the Carroll County 2018-19 FY Budget, due to lightning damage to Carroll County Office Complex building in September 2018.

Resolution 1-8-2019- Resolution to transfer funds from Fund Balance Account Into Expenditure Accounts in the 2018-19 FY Budget.

Resolution 1-9-2019- Resolution to transfer funds from Insurance Recovery Account to the Liability Claim Account for the Carroll County 2018-19 FY Budget, due to water damage to the County Mayor’s Office.
