Dr. Lee Carter Reappointed School Board Chairman

HUNTINGDON (September 20) — Shortly after the sun’s debut above the horizon for the day, Huntingdon Board of Education was electing board officers for a one-year period.
Dr. Lee Carter was elected chairman, Dr. Tim Tucker was elected vice chairman, and Vicki Williams was elected secretary-treasurer.

The board also accepted the retirement of Jean Caton, food service supervisor, effective January 4, 2019.
The 7 a.m. meeting last less than 15 minutes. Board members approved policies on homebound instruction, school district planning, attendance, and alternate school. It also voted to limit to two the number of days a student can visit a postsecondary school without be counted absent.
The next board meeting was set for Thursday, October 18 at 7 p.m. and the annual daylong joint venture and visit to each of the school sites is December 4.
