Gleason, Lake County Split in District Contest

GLEASON (December 7) ­— Gleason Lady Bulldogs and Lake County Boys were the victors in a district contest at Gleason on Friday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs dominated the contest and even played all eighth-graders at times in the waning minutes.
Gleason scored 16 in the first, 37 in the second, 16 in the third, and 4 in the fourth quarters. Alayna Anderson led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Shelbie Burton with 16, Kenady Atkins, 16, Daisy Blevins, 6, Chasney Brawner with 5, Tinsley Parkins, 4, Carrington Lifsey, 3, and Veronica Rosa with 2.

Lake County earned 6 points in the first, 17 in the second, 7 in the third, and 13 in the fourth quarters. Scoring was led by Charlea Beth Wilson, who scored 17, Jashaylia Lee, 13, Emerial Barber, 5, Emma York, 3, and Aaliyah Swift, 1.
Lake County’s boys dominated Gleason with a final score of 60 to 26. Lake County scored 16 in the first, 18 in the second, 22 in the third, and four in the fourth quarter.
Gleason’s scoring was led by Elijah Young with 15 points, Dawson Arnold with 7, and Carson Tidwell 4 were the scorers. Gleason scored six in the first, five in the second, 9 in the third, and 6 in the fourth quarters.
Next Friday, Gleason faces in-county rival Greenfield, who won the ladies’ state championship last year.
