GLEASON, Tenn - On Saturday, September 15, 2018,  Gleason Saddle Club members, Northwest Tennessee equestrians and area residents will team up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer.

The Gleason Saddle Club Saddle Up For St. Jude Horse Show is an event to give area residents the opportunity to help support the lifesaving mission of one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers.

Held at the Gleason Saddle Club, 513 East Union Street, Gleason, Tennessee, the event will be at 7 p.m. with registration beginning at 4 p.m. The event will include Children, Youth, and Adult judged and speed classes with some fun classes thrown in the mix for laughs.

Anyone can get involved through volunteering to request friends and relatives for donations or through corporate sponsorships. Gleason Saddle Club is raffling, until the day of the show, a gas grill and a corn hole set at three tickets for $10.

On the day of the show, a large metal cross will be raffled to some lucky winner.

Barbecue plates will be sold the day of the horse show for $8 per plate. All of the money raised from these activities goes to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Since opening in 1962, St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and around the world. No child is ever denied treatment because of a family’s inability to pay. With a daily operating cost of $1 billion, St. Jude depends mostly on public contributions and fundraising events, like Gleason Saddle Club Saddle Up For St. Jude Horse Show.

About St. Jude

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally-recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital’s research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today. It is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children, and no family ever pays St. Jude for care.
