Haynes in Custody After Evading Arrest

Posted

A McKenzie man is in custody after evading arrest of U.S. Marshals and local authorities.
Jordan Deandre Haynes, 21, of West Walnut Avenue failed to report to jail on an eight-year sentence of attempted second-degree murder.

McKenzie Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and agents from the U.S. Marshals Service searched his home on May 22 based on the warrant for Felony Failure to Appear. They did not find Haynes but did find three other individuals armed with firearms, one of which was reported stolen. The three were transported to Carroll County Jail on weapons charges.
His arrest occurred on June 12 after an automobile accident on Highway 70 in Cedar Grove.
Sheriff Andy Dickson said witnesses reported seeing two males run into the woods after exiting the wrecked car. After hearing a description of the suspect, officers concluded one of those was Haynes. Officers from the CCSD and the helicopter and patrol officers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol began a search of the area. After not locating the subjects, they pulled back their search. Soon, the two started knocking on neighbors’ doors asking to use a telephone. The officers and helicopter returned and located the suspects on Leeford Road in Cedar Grove.
