PARIS — Henry County Medical Center announces the partner of the month for February in the Stars of Excellence program is Martha Warren, Materials Management. Nine others were also nominated for the Stars of Excellence program.
Warren was nominated by her director for her flexibility and ability to take charge. She was recently assigned to take over the stocking of the Healthcare Center, an unfamiliar place as she is relatively new to the department. She had all reason to be nervous about the task but she didn’t blink an eye. She has established great rapport staff members and has quickly earned their trust and respect. In addition, she has reorganized some of the locations of supplies for the nurses, so they can more easily find their supplies. She excels at listening to her customers and always takes care of them in a caring and professional manner.
HCMC also awards star partners of the month. The star partners for the month of February are Becky Damron, ER; Jon-Marc Gowan, Home Health and Hospice; Shelly Tucker, Center for Wellness and Rehabilitation; Brittney Green, Home Health and Hospice; Mary Harrington, Home Health and Hospice; Melissa Wells, Information Systems; Ashley Horath, Business Office; Heather Robertson, Surgery; and Elizabeth Allen, Infusion. These HCMC partners were nominated by patients and coworkers for their hard work and dedication towards this hospital. Their work does not go unnoticed here at HCMC and the hospital is glad to be able to honor them with the Stars of Excellence program. They were nominated for the following:
Becky Damron: Nominated by an administrator for her bravery and concern for others. She recently received a threatening phone call from an anxious spouse and without hesitation, she reported the call. Her protective instincts came into play and put the safety and well-being of staff and patients above herself.
Jon-Marc Gowan: Nominated four times by different patients for his confidence and compassion. Each nomination spoke of his ability to confidently assess the needs of the patients and bring a sense of encouragement to each home as treatments take place. He is exceptionally observant and truly takes his time, ensuring each patient receives the time and effort needed to help them heal. He is very positive and is fun to be around.
Shelly Tucker: Nominated by fellow partners for being a true team player. When headed out of town for some previously made plans, she was notified that an orthopedic patient, just out of surgery, needed to be evaluated. She immediately turned around and delayed her plans to go see the patient to make sure he or she received the deserved care. She consistently demonstrates our values and always makes sure patient care is a priority.
