Holy Week Scheduled at McKenzie First UMC

Posted

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on April 14 at McKenzie First United Methodist Church, located at 16 McTyeire Street. Services will begin at 10:50 a.m.
McKenzie First UMC will again host a special week of lunchtime ecumenical services during Holy Week, April 15-19, at noon each day. This year’s speakers will be Bethel students who are involved in the Bethel Wesley Foundation. They are scheduled as follows:
Monday — Ashley Powers, Bethel Wesley Foundation — Vice President
Tuesday — Brooke Cagle, Bethel Wesley Foundation — President
Wednesday — Lamonte’ Collier, Bethel Wesley Foundation family

Thursday — Luke Cagle, Bethel Wesley Foundation family
Friday — Cassandra Smith, Bethel Wesley Foundation family
“These services are scheduled at noon so that, hopefully, working people in McKenzie can come during their lunch hour,” Rev. LaTricia Trull said. After the short service each day, a light lunch will be available for a suggested donation of $5 to cover the cost of the food. There will be special music each day from the Bethel Wesley students.
On Friday evening at 7 p.m., Rev. Alan Trull, of Gleason First United Methodist Church, will preach the Good Friday service.
Sunday, April 21 is Easter Sunday and service is at 10:50 a.m. We invite everyone in the community to these special events.
