Huntingdon (March 26) — The Huntingdon Town Council approved the 2017-2018 financial audit and a new intercom system for The Dixie during the March 26 meeting.
In the audit, the town’s financial position had the noted changes as announced by Mayor Dale Kelley. The General Fund had a net increase by $108,501, the Dixie Performing Arts Center had a fund balance increase of $20,372, supported by a budgetary transfer from the General Fund of $358,000 to generate a positive increase, the Public Improvement Fund increased by $3,444, the Drug Fund increased by $24,477, the Utility Fund had an increase of $747,266, and the Industrial Fund increased by $57,187.
Also on the town’s audit is the financial activity of the Carroll County Watershed Authority. The Town of Huntingdon provides the fiscal accounting services for the Authority and also has a financial responsibility in case of default by the Carroll County Watershed Authority.
Kelley said the auditors had no adverse findings in the administration of the budget.
Lowrance Sound Company was awarded the contract to provide the Clear-Com intercom system at a price of $24,600 and funded by a USDA grant. It will be installed at The Dixie.
