Shoplifting — A Huntingdon woman was cited into court April 26 for allegedly stealing items from a local business.
Machell S. Sullivan, 56, was charged with theft of property under $1,000.
According to the report by Officer Devon White, he responded to a call from Real Deals Thrift Store on Highway 22 regarding a shoplifter. Employees at the store told White that a woman, identified as Sullivan, took multiple items from the store without paying for them.
White reviewed surveillance video showing Sullivan putting a $15 bottle of cologne in her back pants pocket and pulling her shirt down over it and also putting a couple of bracelets valued at $10 in her front pants pocket before leaving the store without paying for these items. White then went to Sullivan’s residence and spoke with her. When asked about the theft, Sullivan told White that she did put the items in her pockets and was intending to pay for them, but she forgot to do so.
