License, Drug Violations — A Bradford man was arrested during a January 24 traffic stop on Highway 70 in Huntingdon.
Nicholas J. White, 26, was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the police report, an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by White due to a headlight being out. White told the officer that he did not have a license and a computer check showed that his license had been suspended/revoked. While searching White, the officer found a syringe and a spoon. Another syringe was found in White’s vehicle.
Drug, Weapon, License Violations — Two Lavinia residents were arrested during a January 27 traffic stop on Veterans Drive in Huntingdon.
Tommy Howard Rhea, 37, was charged with driving while license suspended and registration violation, while Samantha Rhea, 36, was charged with simple possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and prohibited weapon. According to the report by Officer Christopher Cole, he pulled over a black 1993 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Tommy Rhea for a registration violation. After getting Mr. Rhea’s permission to search the vehicle, Officer Cole found several clear plastic bags containing a white rock-like residue that field-tested positive for cocaine, a glass pipe, digital scales, a used syringe, and a loaded .25 caliber pistol. Samantha Rhea told Officer Cole that these items belonged to her.

D.U.I. — A Yuma man was arrested during a January 6 traffic stop in Huntingdon.
Kenneth A. Johnson, 29, was charged with D.U.I. According to the police report, Officer Carlton Cupples was patrolling on Lexington Street in Huntingdon when a white 2004 Nissan driven by Johnson swerved across the center line, almost striking Cupples’ patrol car head-on and forcing Cupples to swerve in order to avoid a collision. Cupples then turned around, activated his emergency lights, and conducted a traffic stop. Cupples reported that Johnson’s speech was slurred and he smelled of an alcoholic beverage. Johnson also performed poorly on multiple field sobriety tests. Johnson was transported to the Carroll County Jail after giving a voluntary blood sample at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Theft — A Huntingdon woman was arrested January 8 for allegedly taking thousands of dollars for rent and services from tenants at a Huntingdon apartment complex and keeping it for herself.
Officer Labe Ezell charged Bridget D. Drinkard, 32, with theft between $10,000 and $60,000. According to Hill, he responded to a call from Hunter Ridge Apartments in Huntingdon and spoke with Tana Hines, regional manager for Greer Management. Hines told Ezell that a recent audit revealed Drinkard, who was employed as apartment complex manager from April to December of 2018, had used her position to steal money from the tenants and defraud the company. Hines said he discovered that numerous apartments were being occupied by tenants without the company’s knowledge or proper documentation. When questioned, these tenants produced receipts for cash payments - receipts that had been signed by Drinkard. Some tenants said they paid Drinkard additional money for painting and cleaning services, but that work was never done. Hines estimated that Drinkard had taken over $12,000 from tenants under the guise of collecting rent and promising services.
