Huntingdon Woman Faces Child Abuse, Neglect Charges

Posted

A Huntingdon woman was arrested back in May after her newborn infant and her 16-month-old child both tested positive for illegal drugs.
Brehanna D. Porter, 28, was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.
According to the report by Huntingdon Police Officer Christopher Cole, Porter gave birth to a baby girl on April 18 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, and the infant was admitted to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit that next day due to complications.

A laboratory test detected the presence of methamphetamine and marijuana in the infant’s system.
Cole was notified on May 15 by the Department of Children Services (DCS) Porter’s 16-month-old son had tested positive for meth after the boy had been removed from Porter’s custody.
Porter was arrested by HPD officers at her home on May 20.
