McKENZIE — Funeral services for James W. Sydnor, age 91, are Monday, March 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt – McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday, at the funeral home 11 a.m. until service time. Brother Trent Bullock will officiate. Interment is at Carroll Memorial Gardens, McKenzie, Tenn.

Mr. Sydnor, died March 8, 2019 at Paris Healthcare, Paris, Tenn.. He was born January 15, 1928 in McKenzie to John William and Betty Lois Baker Sydnor. He is a Korean War Army Veteran, a member of Enon Baptist Church, and he is a retired police chief for McKenzie Police Department serving the community for forty years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggie Berry Sydnor, two sisters, Thelma Neisler and Lois Newton and two brothers, Robert Sydnor and Gene Sydnor.

He is survived by his son, John (Peggy) Sydnor of Paris, one brother Dale Sydnor and one grandson, William Blake Sydnor.
