Lady Bulldogs Win Five in Three Days

GLEASON (April 22-24) — The Gleason High School Lady Bulldogs rode a hot streak to earn five home wins in three days, including three District 13A victories.
Monday, Gleason made quick work of Humboldt for a doubleheader sweep, 17-0 and 18-0.
Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs swept district foe Greenfield in a twin bill, 15-0 and 17-7.
Wednesday, Gleason earned another district win, topping Dresden 6-2.
Game One: Gleason Lady Bulldogs 17, Humboldt Lady Vikings 0
Gleason scored ten in the bottom of the first and seven in the second.
Lady Bulldog Cailtin Cook was 1-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Bailey Bandy was 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. April Watson was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Cory Burke was 1-for-1 with three walks, three runs scored and a stolen base. Krista O’Callaghan was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Lexia Snider was 0-for-0 with three walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Ally Spain was 0-for-0 with three walks, an RBI, a run scored and four stolen bases. Lilly Ruesken was 0-for-0 with three walks and two runs scored. McKayla Ivy was 0-for-0 with a walk and three runs scored. Whitney Clark was 0-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Cory Burke earned the complete-game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking one in three innings.
Game Two: Lady Bulldogs 18, Lady Vikings 0
Gleason plated four runs in the bottom of the first and 14 in the second.
Lady Bulldog Bailey Bandy was 2-for-2 with a grand slam home run, a walk, five RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. April Watson was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Lilly Ruesken was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. McKayla Ivy was 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Cory Burke was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored. Caitlin Cook was 1-for-1 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Lexia Snider was 0-for-1 with a walk, two RBIs, a run scored and two stolen bases.
McKayla Ivy earned the one-hit shutout, striking out two and walking none in three innings.

Gleason scored nine runs in the bottom of the first and six in the second.

Game Two: Lady Bulldogs 17, Lady Yellowjackets 7
Greenfield struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first, but Gleason took the lead with three in the home half. The Lady Yellowjackets regained the advantage with four in the top of the second and held it until the Lady Bulldogs scored five in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good. Greenfield scored a run in the top of the fourth, but Gleason plated nine in the home half to end the game early.
Lady Bulldog Whitney Clark was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Caitlin Cook was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Cory Burke was 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, an RBI and three runs scored. Bailey Bandy was 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Lexia Snider was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Ally Spain was 1-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Lilly Ruesken was 0-for-1 with two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. McKayla Ivy was 0-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. April Watson was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Cory Burke earned the complete-game win, allowing seven runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out five and walking one in four innings.
Lady Bulldogs 6, Dresden Lady Lions 2
Gleason struck first with a run in the bottom of the first, then added three in the fourth and one in the fifth. Dresden got on the board with a pair in the top of the sixth, and Gleason tacked on one in the home half.
Lady Bulldog Bailey Bandy was 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. McKayla Ivy was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Lilly Ruesken was 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and two stolen bases. April Watson was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Cory Burke was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Caitlin Cook was 0-for-4 with an RBI.
Cory Burke earned the complete-game win, allowing two unearned runs on six hits while striking out eleven and walking two.
