McKENZIE — The Lady Rebels hosted a pair of district games last week to wrap up both their home and district schedules. Tuesday, they played Westview to a 2-2 draw. Then they dominated Gibson County 8-1 on Senior Night Thursday. The team’s eight seniors were recognized with their parents prior to the game.

Lady Rebels seniors are: Holly Barker, daughter of Greg and Amy Barker; Caleigh Britt, daughter of Jeff Britt and Jennifer Britt; Julianna Cole, daughter of Stuart and Erika Cole; Libby Oakley, daughter of John and Amanda Oakley; Ciria Perez, daughter of Patricia and Everardo Hernandez; Bailey Sawyers, daughter of Bobby Sawyers and Tina Hairrell; Jazmin Ventura, daughter of Felipa Pacheco; and Chloe Williams, daughter of Robert and Heather Williams.

In Tuesday’s tie with Westview, Bailey Sawyers and Libby Oakley each scored a goal. Goalkeeper Gracie Dillingham had five saves.

In Thursday’s rout of Gibson County, Maggie Aird scored two goals and had two assists. Oakley had two goals and an assist. Allie Chappell scored two goals, and Caleigh Britt and Amber Wright each scored two goals. Sawyers had a pair of assists. Dillingham had two saves.

McKenzie is 2-0-1 in district play and could host the district tournament. Westview plays South Fulton and Gibson County this week. If the Lady Chargers beat both, the team (McKenzie or Westview) with the better goal differential in district games will host the tournament beginning Thursday, October 11.

The Lady Rebels will close the regular season Tuesday with a non-district contest against Peabody in Trenton.
