Lady Yellowjackets Claim District 13-A Title

MARTIN — Greenfield’s Lady Yellowjackets overcame a first-half deficit Saturday night in the championship game of the District 13-A tournament to win 57-39 over the Lady Bulldogs of Gleason and claim the district tournament championship.
Gleason led the game at the end of the first quarter, 9-6, and maintained a three-point lead at half-time, 21-18. The Lady Yellowjackets returned after the half-time break on fire and jumped into the lead at the end of the third quarter, 42-31, and spread the winning margin to 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Greenfield’s Chloe Moore-McNeil was the game’s leading scorer with a total of 23 points.

Tess Darby tossed in 19 points and Edie Darby added 12 points to round out the Lady ‘Jackets scoring in double figures.
Reese Biggs scored three points.
For Gleason, Alexis Anderson scored 16 points and was followed by Kenady Adkins with 12 points, Lillie Freeman with nine points, and Shelbie Burton with two points.
The loss for Gleason gave the Lady Bulldogs a second place finish in the District tournament.
