10 YEARS AGO — The Terry community’s annual Fall Festival raised $15,050 for the Carl Perkins Center. The event offered a plethora of activities from 8 a.m. to midnight.
20 YEARS AGO — The fourth annual American Heartwalk in Carroll County raised $14,000 to benefit the research and education programs of the American Heart Association.
*Joe Lawton Ward, retired owner of Ward Amoco Oil Company in McKenzie, died at age 71.
50 YEARS AGO — Showing at the Park Theatre: Rough Night in Jericho starring Dean Martin; Battle Beneath the Earth starring Kerwin Mathews; Thoroughly Modern Millie starring Julie Andrews; and Shenandoah starring James Stewart and Rosemary Forsyth.
