McKenzie, Tennessee - Services for Mary Katheryn Wainscott, 95, will be held Friday, August 16, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Tucker officiating.  Interment will follow at Tumbling Creek Cemetery between McKenzie and Gleason.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 3 p.m. until service time.  Mrs. Wainscott, a former airplane manufacturing factory employee and a former Brown Shoe Company employee, died Monday, August 12, 2019 at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, Tennessee.  She was born on April 30, 1924 in Dresden, Tennessee to Charles Franklin and Mary Frances Sanders Freeman. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church USA in McKenzie.  She was preceded in death by her husbands Albert Britton Wainscott who died April 24, 2018 and Roland McCullar, her parents, a son Scotty McCullar, a sister Marsha Russell, two brothers Charlie Freeman and Tom Freeman, and a grandson Anthony “Tony” Rhea Watkins. 

Survivors include her daughter Sue Ray of Greenfield, Tenn., her daughter-in-law, Maudie McCullar of The Villages, Florida, a sister, Dorothy Brun of Frisco, Texas, two brothers, Harry (Joyce) Freeman of McKenzie, Jolly (Royann) Freeman of Paducah, Kentucky, three grandchildren Leslie (Brent) Little of Greenfield, K.K. (Greg) Robinson of Greenfield, Kimberly (Wesley) Shannon of The Villages, Florida, eight great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
