The McKenzie Garden Club met Thursday at the beautifully decorated home of Glynda Rich. The meeting was called to order by President Donna Hodge.

The devotional, entitled God’s Christmas Tree, was read by Sarah Brown. Minutes from the last meeting were read by Susan Lawrence. Roll call was done with 16 members present. Correspondence Secretary Gladys Patterson reported on cards sent.

New business included election of 2019 officers. They are: President Myra Sasser, Vice President Donna Herrin, Secretary Susan Lawrence, Treasurer Donna Ward, Civic and Conservation Chair Donna Hodge. Gladys Patterson will continue as correspondence chair. Call chair will be Sarah Brown and photographer will be Angie Menne. Angie and Ann Montgomery will be co-chairpersons of the scrapbook committee.

It was decided that the next year’s nominating committee will decide new officers in October and confirm them in November. It was voted at the last meeting that instead of buying each other Christmas gifts, each member would bring $20 and the club would donate the proceeds to McKenzie Memorial Library.

Still under new business, it was decided to give $100 each to McKenzie’s school guidance counselors to use at their discretion.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. The club then enjoyed a delicious add-a-dish Christmas luncheon. Following lunch, the collect was read. The next meeting will be in March.
