McKENZIE (April 6) — The McKenzie Girls Fastpitch Softball League kicked off its season Saturday with an opening ceremony and a jamboree of games between the eight teams in four divisions.
Teams lined the softball field from first base to third base and were recognized by league president Laura Beth Milam. Alex Gallien, lead pastor of Overflow Church, prayed, then Megan Allen, director of Bethel University Renaissance Choir sand the National Anthem. Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler threw the ceremonial first pitch to Jeremy Allen, assistant director of McKenzie Parks and Recreation.
The teams then dispersed to play several games.
