Several individual from three area schools qualified for the Tennessee Track and Field Championships in Murfreesboro, May 22-24. What makes this all interesting is all three of these schools going to state have not had track and field programs very long. McKenzie used to have it in the late 1970s early 80s before discontinuing it for lack of participation. Huntingdon’s program is in its second year and is sending seven kids to State. Also these three schools were competing against established track programs in Memphis to earn their respective trips to the “Spring Fling”.
