As we enter the New Year, we are reflecting back with gratitude for all of our patrons and the many acts of kindness shown to McKenzie Memorial Library.

We are governed by seven fantastic Library Board members and one Regional Board member appointed by Mayor Holland. We have a Friends of the Library Group that helps support the Library with assistance when needed. We are a part of the Obion River Regional Library, which provides us with IT support, training opportunities to help us with our continuing education hours and materials ordered for our patrons with state and federal funds. They keep us up to date on standards required by the State of Tennessee.

I had the honor and privilege to present the program on December 12, 2018, for the Inglenook Book Club, a great group of women led by the president of the Club, Donna Ward. Members of the Inglenook Book Club made a generous donation in support of the McKenzie Memorial Library.

Shirley Martin presented a donation to McKenzie Memorial Library from the First Presbyterian Church, USA.

Emily Young presented a donation to McKenzie Library from Mr. Charles Wilson, Foundation Bank.

Ernest Brooks II, City Councilman District Three in Jackson, visited our library in December and donated five books to the library as part of the “Early Childhood Literacy” program.

Julie and Donald Benrud donated the new book ‘Sea of Greed’ by Clive Cussler/Graham Brown.

Frances Allen donated the new book ‘Look Alive Twenty-Five’ by Janet Evanovich.

Meredith Lampley donated the new audiobook ‘Look Alive Twenty-Five’ by Janet Evanovich.

Memorials: ‘In Memory of Iola Corbin’ given by Tenia King and Becky Scates.

Honorarium: ‘In Honor of Amy Vawter’ given by Jill Holland.

Donations given: Dick and Carol Brewster, Rebecca Wages, Anonymous.

We are keeping the shelves full of books and audiobooks, and we just ordered 30 new DVDs which should be arriving very soon.

Come by and visit your local Library... we have so many resources available!
