Aggravated Assault — Ms. Sindy Howard notified police on Monday evening, November 12, that she was visiting her ex-husband at his residence on Haynes Street when Ms. Christina Donald came through the door and Howard informed her Mr. Howard wasn’t feeling well and she couldn’t stay. An argument occurred between the two which turned physical. Howard told police that Donald grabbed a kitchen knife off the counter and cut her left arm and then washed off the knife at the sink.
According to the police report filed by Officer Trey Boucher, Donald came to the police department later and gave her side of the story during which she told the officer she thought Howard had a gun and feared for her life which was why she grabbed the knife. Mr. Thomas Howard was interviewed and told police he witnessed part of the incident and that Ms. Donald caused the problem. Ms. Donald was charged with aggravated assault with a $1,500 bond and transported to Carroll County Jail.
DUI — McKenzie Police were called about an individual sitting in a gray car at the Exxon gas station on Hwy 79, Sunday, November 11. The clerk told police the individual had been there several hours and was concerned about him being there.
According to the report filed by Officer Kyle Beauchamp, he and two other officers responded finding a man, later identified as Stedman Pettigrew, passed out (asleep) sitting in the driver’s seat with his seat belt on and the engine running. It took several attempts to get Pettigrew awake and then had him perform several sobriety tests which he did poorly on. A search of his vehicle turned up a plastic baggie with white residue that field tested positive for cocaine along with an open bottle of liquor.
Pettigrew was arrested and charged with DUI-First Offense and transported to Carroll County Jail.

Simple Possession/Casual Exchange — An employee of Little General contacted McKenzie Police on Sunday evening, November 18, and reported a suspicious dark-colored truck parked at the side of the building with a middle-aged white male asking if anyone needed drugs.
According to a report filed by Officer Trey Boucher, they responded and found the vehicle and driver, identified as Donald Long from Union City, a computer inquiry found that that he had a warrant out of Weakley County and was immediately arrested. Long refused permission to search his truck after which Deputy Michael Krouse came and had a K9 check the truck. The dog alerted on the truck and a search did turn up a plastic bag with a substance believed to be marijuana in it. He was taken to Weakley County Jail and cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court for simple possession of a schedule VI drug.
Vandalism — Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, November 13, McKenzie Police received a 911 call in reference to a disturbance at a Winston Avenue residence. Matthew Fourman told police that Trisha Pollock was chasing him around with a bat. He claimed she was having a mental breakdown. He told police she was trying to leave with her two children and he believed she was not in the right state of mind to do so. He indicated to police that he thought she was currently on opiods and was afraid to let her leave with the children. According to Fourman, she picked up a bat and began damaging things in the house when he refused to allow her to leave.
Pollock was placed under arrest for vandalism and transported to the Carroll County Jail. The two children were left in the care of Mr. Fourman.
Driving on Suspended License — McKenzie Police investigated a minor two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Little General, Saturday, November 17. According to a report filed by Officer Cody Coleman, one of the drivers, Alan Rawlins of Wonder Lake, Illinois, was found to be driving on a suspended license from that state. Rawlins also could not furnish proof of insurance. He was cited into General Sessions Court for driving on a suspended license and violation of the financial responsibility law.
