Domestic Assault — McKenzie Police responded to a call on Monday, September 10, regarding an assault that occurred at a Cedar Street residence. According to a report filed by Officer Steven Scott, he spoke to Amy McCaskill of McKenzie, who stated that her husband, Wesley McCaskill, Jr. had become upset and assaulted her. She also stated he was smashing knick knacks in the house when she left. She also reported that McCaskill had assaulted her in a separate incident on Sunday, September 9. That incident was witnessed by Breanna Seymour, Mrs. McCaskill’s daughter, who confirmed the incident.
A warrant was issued for Wesley McCaskill and was later arrested on Friday, September 14.

Theft — Bettie Martin reported to police, Tuesday, September 11, that she noticed her license plate was taken from her 2007 Ford F150 truck. She told police that she believes it was on the truck the previous day. The license number was entered into the NCIC database as stolen.

Driving on Suspended/Revoked License — On Sunday morning, September 16, Officer Steven Scott initiated a stop after observing Michael Sexton of McKenzie get into a white truck and drive north on Hwy 22. Officer Scott had prior knowledge of Sexton having a suspended license and asked Sexton about it after initiating the stop. Sexton stated it should not be still suspended. A license check revealed it was still suspended and Sexton was cited into court for driving on a suspended license.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident — McKenzie Police were called to the McKenzie Medical Center Friday afternoon, September 14, where Mr. James Hertel of Paris told police he was sitting in the parking lot waiting to let his wife out at the clinic when a black/gray Chevrolet HHR backed out of a parking lot and collided with the rear of his car and drove off. Hertel indicated the vehicle had handicap plates and left minimal damage to his vehicle including a broken tail light.
