McKenzie Rebels Blow Out Lions

McKENZIE (April 5) — The McKenzie Middle School Rebels hosted Camden Friday. The Rebels scored in every inning for a dominant 17-3 win.
Camden struck first with a run in the top of the first, but McKenzie responded with five in the home half. The Rebels added three in the second, then each team plated two in the third. McKenzie scored seven in the fourth, then shut out Camden in the fifth to end the game.
Rebel Ty Anderson was 2-for-2 with a triple, two walks, two RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Braden Birmingham was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Jackson Cassidy was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and a stolen base. Tate Surber was 1-for-3 with a walk, three RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Landon Brown was 1-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Hayden Garrett was 1-for-1 with a run scored. Nolan Renfro was 0-for-0 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base. Lane Anderson was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Nolan Renfro earned the win for McKenzie, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out five and walking one in four innings. Ty Anderson pitched the final frame, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out one and walking none.
