McKenzie Sweeps Clarksburg

McKENZIE (November 15) — McKenzie Middle School coasted to a pair of wins Thursday as they hosted Clarksburg. The Lady Rebels won 44-7, and the Rebels took the nightcap, 43-5.

McKenzie blanked Clarksburg 12-0 in the opening frame, led by Briley Auvenshine with six points. Savannah Davis, MiKaela Reynolds and Kylie Reynolds each had a pair.
The Lady Rebels had a 9-5 edge in the second quarter, led by Davis with five points, including a three-pointer. K. Reynolds and Aaliyah Teague each had two points. Grace Bartholomew led Clarksburg with four points, and Chloe Crum hit a free throw. At the half, McKenzie led 21-5.
McKenzie shut out the Lady Rockets 17-0 in the third, led by M. Reynolds with five points, including a three. Auvenshine and Davis each hit a three, and K. Reynolds, Katie Prather and Kyeanna Sneed each had two points. Entering the final frame, McKenzie led 38-5.
The Lady Rebels sealed the victory in a quick, 6-2 fourth. Teague, Nicole Gibson and Payton Ognibene each had a pair. Addison Milam scored two points for Clarksburg.
Lady Rebel Savannah Davis led all scorers with ten points, including a pair of threes. Briley Auvenshine had nine, including a three-pointer, and MiKaela Reynolds scored seven, also with a three.

Grace Bartholomew led Clarksburg with four points.
Rebels 43, Rockets 5
McKenzie led 12-1 after the first frame. Scoring two points each were Bryson Steele, Ralph Dennie, Bryant Haynes, Marquez Taylor, Etijay Tharpe and Christopher Beck. Sha Williams hit a free throw for Clarksburg.
The Rebels blanked the Rockets 14-0 in the second, led by Haynes with six points. Zay Webber scored four, Stafford Roditis hit a three, and Tharpe hit a freebie. At the half, McKenzie led 26-1.
McKenzie had a 10-4 advantage in the third. Steele, Dennie, Tharpe, Roditis and Beck each had a pair. Williams and Stefan Gilbert each scored two points for Clarksburg. Heading into the final frame, the Rebels led 36-5.
In a quick fourth, McKenzie shut out the Rockets 7-0. Hayden Garrett scored four, and Cadon Steele had three points.
Rebel Bryant Haynes led all scorers with eight points. Etijay Tharpe and Stafford Roditis each had five points, Roditis with a three.
Sha Williams led Clarksburg with three points.
