MMS Receives Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant

Posted

The Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation awarded a $2,780 Lowe’s Small Toolbox for Education grant to McKenzie Middle School for the installation of a canopy over the rear entrance to the gym. McKenzie Middle School was one of 563 schools across the United States to be awarded a Lowe’s Small Toolbox for Education grant during its spring 2018 grant cycle for improvement projects.
The canopy, installed by GSC Signs & Awnings over fall break, provides students with an adequate shelter from rain, snow and sleet during loading and unloading of buses. MMS Principal Dorethea Royle was pleased to receive the grant, recently stating, “Students have been very appreciative of the new canopy.” The McKenzie Middle School PTO, who applied for the grant on behalf of the school, wishes to thank Lowe’s for their generous support of this worthwhile project.
All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program. More information is available at www.toolboxforeducation.com.
